மறைந்திருந்து பார்க்கும், மண்டபம் என்ன ?
பாழடையா கோபுரம்
1) Kalyana mandapam (marriage hall) shot from just another corner.
2) The impressive Rajagiri fort atop the hill -"Troy of the East"
3) Gopuram of a ruined temple atop Ranimalai
4) View of lush green paddy fields from the hilltop.
5) Silhouette of my flute guru- Mr.Ghana, the reason why I was there in the first place.
6) A vociferous bunch of school kids who brought life to the ruins with their antics.
Senji koattai (Gingee Fort) is a historically important place in Tamil Nadu, which has seen numerous wars between the Indians(Jains, Pallavas, Chola kings, Pandya, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara kings, Muhammadans, Mughals) , British and French to capture it.
The Rajagiri (King's hill) is perched atop a intimidating rocky hill, and offers strategic advantage over other troops invading from the surrounding plains. There is Rani koattai(Queen's fort) on a nearby hill, which we climbed.
